7 October
World Habitat Day
As every year since 1995, the first Monday in October was designated by the United Nations as World Habitat Day.
World Habitat Day was established by the General Assembly of the United Nations with resolution 40/202 and celebrated for the first time in 1986.
The goal of this day is to promote a reflection on the state of cities in the world and on the fundamental right to safe housing for every citizen. The celebration is very important to remember the power and responsibility of every inhabitant of the world in determining the future of the city in which they live.
