4 November
Italian Unity and Armed Forces Day
National Unity and Armed Forces Day is an Italian national day of celebration. Established in 1919 to commemorate the Italian victory in World War I, it is celebrated every November 4th, when the armistice of Villa Giusti (November 4, 1918) came into force, and the surrender of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Established in 1919, the celebration of 4 November is the only national holiday that has spanned decades of Italian history: from the liberal age, to Fascism, to republican Italy.
